Hi,
My name is Roger Douglas Garner, however I prefer to be called Doug. I have been a lifelong resident of the Huntingdon Area. I was born in Huntingdon on Sept. 11, 1956 & lived in Saxton till I was 18. I graduated from Tussey Mountain High School in 1974. I attended Juniata College in Huntingdon in the fall of 1974 where I graduated in May of 1978 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with minors in Marketing & Accounting.

From college, I entered the automobile business with my Father in Mt. Union, PA where I became general manager of Rog Garner Chevrolet-Oldsmobile. In May of 1983, we relocated the Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealership to Huntingdon & took on the Buick & Cadillac franchises.

In the Spring of 1996 I became the Dealer-Operator of Chevrolet-Buick-Cadillac in Huntingdon, PA . In Jan. 2001, I retired from the automobile business, selling the business to Team Automotive.

In June of 2001 my wife (Ellen) and I purchased a small sports pub in downtown Huntingdon called Elly Mae's Pub. We operated the pub thru January of 2006.

I have been blessed w/3 wonderful boys (Adam, Alex & Andy)-All adults now. I also have a grandson (Kyler).

During my many years in the community, I have been involved in many civic & charitable events.
During my many years of owning & operating these businesses in Huntingdon, I always enjoyed the people & the relationships I developed. Sales was always the backbone of my business endeavors & I continue to work with people & their needs.

My wife & I chaired the 40th Annual Charity Ball for JC Blair Memorial Hospital which raised funds for equipment & needs of the hospital.

I have been a lifelong supporter of the Huntingdon Little League & Teener League where I also helped coach for 11 years.

I have been a lifelong sports enthusiast who loves to play golf & watch about anything sports related. During my college years, I lettered for Juniata College Golf Team for 4 yrs. I have been on the Hunt. Country Club Bd. of Directors for 10 yrs., serving as President of the Country Club for 1.5 years.
